OUR APPEAL
Funds raised will support PETA India's Emergency Response Team (ERT) programme. PETA India's trained emergency rescue staff respond to calls 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. In a year, they responds to more than 90,000 calls. The team consists of two veterinarians, six veterinary assistants and seven emergency response coordinators. They operate in Delhi and Mumbai, often reaching animals no other agency will help, and assist animals throughout India through their network. Calls in the last year involved dogs, cats, cows and bullocks, camels, horses, donkeys, monkeys, and other animals. More than 2,600 calls involved abuse that required cruelty investigations and responses.
