PETA India
19,450 Raised Goal 200,000

ABOUT US

People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals India operates under the simple principle that animals are not ours to eat, wear, experiment on or use for entertainment. We educate policymakers and the public about animal abuse and promote an understanding of the right of all animals to be treated with respect and compassion.

OUR APPEAL

Funds raised will support PETA India's Emergency Response Team (ERT) programme. PETA India's trained emergency rescue staff respond to calls 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. In a year, they responds to more than 90,000 calls. The team consists of two veterinarians, six veterinary assistants and seven emergency response coordinators. They operate in Delhi and Mumbai, often reaching animals no other agency will help, and assist animals throughout India through their network. Calls in the last year involved dogs, cats, cows and bullocks, camels, horses, donkeys, monkeys, and other animals. More than 2,600 calls involved abuse that required cruelty investigations and responses.
