OUR APPEAL
Organ donations are increasingly becoming instrumental in saving lives, with organs being transplanted across diverse gender, caste, and religious identities in numerous Indian states. These acts of solidarity and generosity warrant celebration. However, amidst this inspiring narrative, there is a concerning reality. A significant number of organ failure patients are unable to benefit from these life-saving medical advancements. They lack the financial means to afford the transplant and subsequent follow-ups, thus depriving them of this option. It is crucial for more state governments to take steps towards making transplants affordable and providing support for post-transplant medication to patients.
Until such measures are implemented, NGOs and similar entities must step in to bridge the gap.
The MOHAN Foundation has been tirelessly working to boost the rate of deceased organ donation in various states across India. Our initiative, “Anudaan: Making Transplants Affordable”, is dedicated to aiding economically disadvantaged patients, especially children, ensuring they too have access to life-saving organ donation and transplantation services.
MOHAN Foundation started this initiative in 2021 since then it has supported over 71 cases all over India.
We are running the marathon to raise funds for ten transplant cases, each costing two lakhs. Our goal is to raise Rs. 20 lakhs.
