Every two minutes, a woman in India loses her life to complications related to pregnancy and childbirth. Over a third of children born in India are severely underweight or malnourished- a handicap at birth that will hamper their cognitive and physical growth and hold them back for the rest of their lives. A majority of these conditions are entirely preventable if timely and quality care is made available to mothers and children that are often missed out by current healthcare systems. Early interventions to support mothers and babies are simple, cost-effective, and effective, leading to sustained, long-term health gains for life!
The Antara Foundation (TAF) is working with governments and communities at the very last mile:
• We train labour room staff to improve hospitals and clinics
• We train frontline health workers to use data to identify risk and provide timely, quality care
• We empower communities to elevate their voice and seek better health care for their families

We're training local healthcare providers to deliver timely and quality life-saving services, identify and prioritize treatment beneficiaries most at risk.

We are a young, dynamic, committed group of over 160 professionals, working in over 5,700 villages, reaching over 7.5 million people in rural India. Our team includes young, idealistic graduates, experienced professionals from public health and social sciences, and data-science driven experts.
